I’m Kathi Fachet ( pronounced "Fash-ay" - just think of "sachet" with an "F" ).

As a fine art illustrator based in sunny Arizona, my passion is bringing joy to your life through the beauty of pencil illustrations.

I specialize in using Prismacolor and Faber-Castell colored and graphite pencils, which give me the perfect tools to capture every intricate, life-like detail in my artwork.

When I’m away from the studio, you’ll usually find me out in the serenity of nature - birdwatching and doing wildlife photography. I’m just as much of a birder and observer as I am an artist.

These outdoor adventures are incredibly close to my heart, and I often use my own photos as the direct inspiration for my bird and animal illustrations.

While a pencil has felt natural in my hand since childhood, 2015 marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter and Kathi Fachet Illustrations was born.

That was the year I began accepting professional commissions - bringing your beloved pets, favorite birds, wild creatures, and even familiar faces to life through detailed hand-drawn art. Today pet portraits make up the majority of my requested work.

My original illustrations, prints, and greeting cards have found loving homes all across the United States, as well as in Australia, Europe, and New Zealand.

From 2015 to 2019, I worked at the U.S. Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand. During my time there, I was honored to be commissioned by the Embassy staff to draw a portrait of the Ambassador's dog.

While living in New Zealand, I travelled throughout the country, immersing myself in its culture and unique wildlife and was commissioned to illustrate many of the country's native birds.

Living in two completely different corners of the world - the lush landscapes of New Zealand and the rugged deserts of Arizona has profoundly shaped who I am as an artist.
